The Promotion Fund for Education is a non-profit organization registered in Quebec in January 2023.
The Fund invests in community education so that beneficiaries, particularly children, can develop into independent, engaged citizens of their communities.
The idea of this project began in February 2019, following a trip to Haiti by Chatelain St-Amour.
During this trip, he was able to visit a small fundamental school in operation since 1964 in the commune of La Victoire (northern Haiti).
Despite the difficult and precarious operating environment, he was particularly touched by the resilience of this school of just over 200 students.
Back in Montreal, with the support of family and friends, he created an informal group of supporters.
Together, inspired by the resilience and dignity of an entire community, they began to contribute financially to support these children and help the school improve access and educational provision.
The Fund is also committed to promoting student retention in the province of Quebec by supporting various organizations working with vulnerable populations.
